Many comments on this thread refer to KAR's fundamentals. But what exactly are they? Does anybody on this thread really know? According the Etrade website, the 2010 balance sheet include the following FUNDAMENTAL information:
Relative Return to Market -48.3
Sales ($) 0.00
Cash Flow (cents) -0.9
Earnings (cents) -3.6
Dividends (cents) 0.0
Capital Spending (cents) -90.4
Book Value ($) 2.04
Total Return (%) -34.6
It appears that an old second hand pair of jeans has more re-sale value than KAR at the moment.
We all know that genuine fundamental based investors dont invest in a compnay which has produced no sales, is paying no dividends and has returned MINUS 34%. This is not an investment, its a speculative flutter on unknown future variables (such as drill results).
I think the accronym DYOR has never been more appropriate. It appears many here haven't done any real research into KAR's fundamentals at all.
