In my experience if you ever contact a director of a listed company they are only ever up beat.
They are contactable when things are travelling well but if the company is not travelling so well they are in a meeting, voice mail etc.
The best way to assess the company is to read all their announcements including those not "market sensitive" with a fine tooth comb.
The devil is in the detail. The huff and puff will be in the "market sensitive" news.
