My guess is probably not. The US credit rating downgrade could have very negative market repercussions.
However the up shoot of that is that gold will rise.
Thing to really watch is the US bond market. That's where there could be big problems; systemic problems.
CRC is almost a miner and isn't a speccie: the speccies will get smashed.
