HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A CUSTOMER SCREWED Bank of Melbourne advertise a MAXI account paying 2.55% When I first opened a MAXI Account the rate at the time was 3.25% The rate has been dropping since and currently stands at 2.55%. When I checked my bank statement for the month of March 2017 ,- I noticed the rate had dropped to 1%. This is a deceptive and misleading practice by the Bank. I immediately rang the branch manager and he stated he would apply on my behalf for an interest rate adjustment ,and confirmed the rate payable should have been 2.75% . It is now the 23rd MAY ,-and NO adjustment of interest has been paid . The local bank clerk stated he "Is Trying to Help Me " by carrying out " Due Diligence " It took me two minutes to work out the interest payable based on the minimum balance during the month of March ,and confirmed by the previous Manager .(Since Resigned ) I am very , very angry with the Banks tardiness and contempt towards customers . as I am out of pocket by several hundred dollars owing . ALSO ,the Bank of Melbourne paid interest on my MAXI Account for April on the 29th , hence saving one days interest payable by the bank . . Yet ALL the four Banks are crying in their Champagne , Caviar and wet Cuban Cigars at a small impost by the Federal Government .
