Ah I am envious of your trip to the wineries. I have always liked Jacobs Creek wines. Cheap yet really quite good, very underated in my opinion. I have spent some drunken weekends at the wineries in the South of W.A.. If you ever get a chance go there, they have some amazing berry wines and liqueurs, stuff like pear and plum liquer.

Im several hours west of Brisbane.
Ive spent some time in the bush around Cairns and a year or two at Cape York. I have driven to Cape York a couple of times so when you said you were at the end of the bitumen I thought you would have to be up that way somewhere.
Kudos to you Mogga, it is a beautiful part of the world as is the whole Cape York area as well.
Personally I hope they never bituminise the road any further North than it is now it would detract from the whole experience.
Not to mention all the Townies would swamp the place and *&^% the place completely.
