Chance given to query pipeline
12 Jul, 2011 04:00 AM
A two-way sharing of information is the aim of a series of community information sessions organised by Eastern Star Gas regarding the proposed Narrabri to Wellington Gas Pipeline Project, the company says.
The information sessions will take place in community centres in Boggabri, Tambar Springs, Coolah and Wellington from July 26 to July 29.
The sessions aim to give residents, farmers and environmentalists who have previously expressed concerns regarding the development a chance to query the proposed pipeline.
The project will go ahead if ESG gains approval from state and federal government. ESG General Manager Stakeholder Relations Peter Fox said the company is considering the possibility of delivering gas from the Narrabri Gas Project to a possible LNG facility on Kooragang Island in Newcastle as well as a proposed gas fired power station closer to home, in Wellington.
?ESG recognises the community has a keen interest in the project and believes the information sessions will be valuable,? Mr Fox said.
He said the sessions will be informal and allow interested parties to view the information related to the project at their leisure.
Community members are encouraged to attend at any time during the sessions.
