I can't see what relevance Norwich Park has.
It's a long way from CLR and many more mines are much closer.
BHP are closing that mine because it isn't profitable.
Profitability depends on coal quality, cost to produce and price received.
If the arithmetic for Carabella's coking coal resource is right, their project is attractive. It's got nothing to do with being 50 km from one particular BHP mine out of about 20 located in the northern Bowen Basin.
There's still a huge demand for coal and BHP are going to have to have trouble honouring existing contracts. If anything, the Norwich Park issue should favour existing producers although most have no excess to be able to sell anyway.
