What Gittens fails to mention is the reluctance of Australians to change and the reasons why they are like that . We will stick with the devil we know rather than the one we don't.
It seems we happily embrace change when it is demonstrated to us in a practical sense. Australians are known as early adopters generally.
But, we have trust issues. That's the problem.
The last election is a good example. Labor proposed quite a bit of change. Only trouble is they didn't sell it. Because they were consistently leading in the polls
they didn't think they needed to. Compounding that they had a leader that has never been considered trustworthy.
So, while I'm sure voters don't trust the Coalition either, voting for the Coalition didn't involve radical change.
It seems the best option in the report is a bit of a no brainer. But it's not worth a cracker if you can't sell it.........
