change mysogeny - change sexist & mysandry too

    Remember Orwell and Newspeak?

So the Macquarie Dictionary is going to broaden the meaning of "mysogyny" to include "a deep prejudice against women" and not limit it to its traditional use as a "hatred of women"

Times change and with that language. Therefore, I have no problem what is proposed so long as Macquarie is consistent.

I would expect the meaning of "mysandry" to include "a deep prejudice against men" and not limit it to its traditional use as "hatred of men"

I would also expect "sexism" to be defined as a negative or prejudical attidues or opinions expressed about members of the other sex, irrespective of whether male of female

I wonder if Julia Gillard would agree with my even-handed suggestions - I think not because "words are power" and "whoever controls the words" has the power.

Remember in Orwell's Animal Farm, all of the animals were equal, except the pigs declared themselves to be "more equal".
