If there is an offer on foot, and it's not the Chinese then the deal with the Chinese was done as a long term strategic move , remembering that the chinese are visiting regularly.
If a takover is close, they will wait a few days, maybe even weeks so as not to look like they have not been informing the market
If there is a takeover - it looks like it will be done with board approval vs a hostile takeover and thus why the timeframes of potential negotiations
For me after it is all said and done, either a takeover or a long term strategIc tie up with the Chinese is a big plus.'
Interestingly te volume in SA was second only to when the night when the chinese bought their stake.
