"does TAM still hold a significant stake in ABU?"
As at 31 March 2013 TAM were listed as holding 78,392,301 shares in ABU (2.39% stake) (see the List of "40 Largest Shareholders - Ordinary Shares as at 31st March 2013").
Not quite sure what a 'significant stake in ABU' would be.
TAM have been reducing their holdings in ABU during recent times. We will not know if they have reduced further during April 2013, as that will not show until the figures for this month (April) are released.
In September 2012 TAM had slightly more than 160,000,000 ABU shares.
Hope this answers your question. The current demise of TAM should not reflect negatively on ABU at all IMO.
