In reply to Sarks03 is there any evidence that institutions are using Quantiferon blood tests?

Last year (July 08) I visited the Chelsea New York TB testing facility.

My first observation was a large sign on the wall that said "only the blood test for TB is used at this facility".

Second observation was that the waiting room was packed with people waiting for the TB test.

I asked the Nurse and the Doctor at the reception what they thought of the TB test, "It is the best test we have had for TB, thank them in Australia"
By the ay there was a three week wait period to get the test.
This to me is very informative, on the ground, real life experience with health Care users.
