Found this on one reputable site written by a small cap specialist.Any thoughts? "We approach a mining investment in exactly the same way we approach any company. Once we’ve identified a company that’s of sufficient size [bigger than $50 million capitalisation but outside the ASX 100] we will review the management team. Next on our list is a preference for a company that’s in production, that’s got mine life beyond three or four years, and then we’ll make some sort of value judgment on the quality or otherwise of its exploration prospects or its ability to extend its operating life."
