    1 January for federation would be appropriate. Celebrate the end of colonialism, not the beginning of it

    good idea but, imo, best not to forget this land's heritage because it is becoming very appropriate again

    there was an Industrial Revolution, people were moved off the farm lands into the cities so the aristocracy could profit from mechanised farming; as workers, if they had a job in the factories, they were treated like slaves; they were dirt poor; thus crime was rife; prisons were overflowing; these greed-man-made dregs of society were shipped to Australia; CONVICT settlement

    often, the upwardly mobile wish to forget their forefather's past as being society's exploited dregs

    Australia was born from social inequality of the haves & have nots

    least we forget
