Reb, I think Woolies' sales took a serious hit when the ACCC pulled the skids on their fuel offers, limiting them to 4c max.
I used to do a lot of buying just to get the fuel discount, anywhere up to 60c+......and I have 330 litre fuel capacity in my Patrol, so I used to get the full 150 litre benefit. Used to have heaps of diesel stored at home. I even received bonus (up to 30c-40c) offers with no buying conditions, just had to accept.
Of course, when the benefits stopped, I ceased my prodigious buying.....
I wouldnt have been alone, by a long shot.....
I still get sucked into liquor offers (12 bottles of wine for $69, recently), but thats about it.
Their profiling of me would have me tagged as an alki.....
They are trying all sorts of other offers, but I havent bit....
