Hi stujack88, I partly agree with you but cant see where the media has taken Abbott out of context. They simply replayed the video to him and provided him the opportunity to explain it in context. Its the way he handled that that has continued the story to run today. He wasnt ambushed as his office was given a couple of hours notice so he should have been prepared. Then you get posts here claiming that Labor is making something of Abbotts words when the Labor spokespeople are saying that Abbott clearly did not intend any offence in Afghanistan.

However, it is a fact that the deceased soldiers father has stated he is offended by Abbotts words and really he and other family are the only ones entitled to do so. The soldiers spouse is apparently satisfied that the matter is resolved.

Thats the facts as I see it.
