Not sure on collision detection but one of the posters mentioned it was talked about during the AGM with 6 patents on safety.
Also I believe during the video on the today show Simon mentioned something about recognising head shape so that would still track when the user turns around,
I believe most drones come with spare blades. The thing can also be flown in manual so wouldn't surprise me how easily it could be to hit something. Obviously we are not at the stage with sensors / camera's / software where this thing will fly around like something off star wars and avoid everything.
Pre-orders could be anyone's guess but if its anywhere near even 250,000 that sounds good to me
