My advice is to play safe - and buy physical gold and silver bullion and make sure you actually take possession.
I don't tip stocks but personally hold a few MMN, believing silver will one day outshine gold. I consider MMN reasonably safe, having pure silver, no debt, no hedging and no sovereign risk.
However most of my pittance has gone into real silver and gold.
