    Personally i think it is a smart move to block charge for childcare, but a new system would need to be in place to monitor. Sign in and out system, what happens if forgot to sign out what happens if it goes into the next block etc, and government rebates. Sure it can work though.

    But as said above may be tricky to monitor as most placements require a booking time so there are adequate carers per child, you can't just have blow in and out block times.

    So current system is half day and full day, which is easiest as spots can be held per week and charges will be collected regardless of absentees or not, and carers to kid ratios can be correct.

    If goodstart block charges happen then great but I would like to see how that pans out before jumping into an immediate counter measure. It may just work out that block charges don't work from a logistics point of view.

    It is a childcare centre not a nanas anytime drop of pick up house.
