Interesting, it is good they are trialling something. They will require fiddling with that though. It will certainly help some but those people that want to drop off at 7am or 630am are then required to either be in the maximum 12 hours regardless of pick up. Or pay the extra $5 per 30 min for earlier start than block start time.
It would have to be worked out by the parent which is cheaper. And that information would also have to be relayed for staff numbers. But it could certainly work. At least they're trying something a little outside the box.
Not 100% convinced of the impact. At the end of the day if something works out cheaper then people will use it. Of course only if the service being offered is the same.
If G8 actually can market child educators as well as quality carers, bring in some skill assisting innovations, have decent meal plan preparations, early learning tools, show warmth to the children and MAARKET IT then people will pay a little extra (if their budget enable).
If G8 kids have nappy rash and are damaged when leaving the centre and a carer fobbing of the parent then it won't matter what price or block the business will not survive.
Running a childcare/asset management like a business is one thing but at the end of the day we are talking about a caring facility for the most precious thing in a parents life. If they can get that ideology right then it should be a cash making machine.
