Isn’t it fair to say though that net buying doesn’t mean retail isn’t selling? It just means that, overall, more money flowed into buying than selling.
Retail investors aren’t a single entity. Some are panic selling while others with a more risk appetite buying the dip, and the broker data doesn’t distinguish between them.
Plus, institutions and algorithmic traders also use these platforms, so not every trade coming from a retail broker is actually a retail investor.
