Google sheets/docs was an acquisition, so is Android, YouTube and many other of their "core" services. Even Google Ads was an acquisition (Double Click). Search in itself makes no money without many of these add on products. You can argue that paying $1B for YouTube was an excellent acquisition in hindsight, an investment that paid dividends many many times over.
The same can be said about LVT's acquisitions. They obviously added a lot of value in terms of IP, talent, revenue growth and product offering. How is that a bad thing?
