Interesting analysis Kiwi67... The most important thing for me is that the likelyhood of a gas hit is extremely high be it from the Walloon Coal measures at around 500-700m depth or from perhaps a traditional gas target below this level. Either way we will know shortly imo.

Perhaps they are using two different drillers because it is cost effective to drill the first section with a cheaper rig setup or maybe its scheduling issue.

I suspect if they hit something promising the share price may start to react prior to the ann of the drill results due to either pure speculation (which is fair enough given the proximity to MEL) or due news leaking out.
