I would contact CTM directly.
If you're exercising them close to the expiry, I would take no chances and do exactly as is required. The extra $20 to raise a bank cheque would be worth the peace of mind IMO.
Keep records of everything you send - strangely it still appears to be quite a manual process (compared to how instantaneous trading is through a platform)
