Personally I find valuing tech companies like ALC very hard so for me it's a safeguard strategy.
If you can take out your initial investment it's a lot easier to let the rest ride to 'blue sky opportunities' IMO & not sell the rest too soon.
There are simply too many variables to say it's worth say 40c & then just sell out when it hits that IMO.
For me it's a small investment so either way I'm not going to lose any sleep over what happens.
