Agree with most of what you said except to add the following.

Its ok to assume 99% of what's posted is bullshit ramp but when you get the good oild how can you tell?

the only only way you can tell shit from clay is to do the sufficient hard yards yourself to know sufficient about what you are invested in, to get some value from someone who knows what they are talking about and thus adding value and to also to be able to debunk bullshit.

If you are reading the good stuff and you dismiss it is more bullshit, how smart or informed is the reader dismissing it. Not very I'd say.

I have been able to add to my knowledge base a few times here on CFE. A couple of times an infrequent poster has added a brief, informative bit of info and then went away again. I knew sufficinet of the facts to immediately recognise that the person knew what they were talking about and in fact they helped fill a knowledge gap I had.

They are also several thousand folk who read but rarely post except to say every now again they find it amusing and all bullshit but they keep reading. I often wonder how these people know whats truth or bullshit? If they can recognise it then I assume they understand the company well, they understand the assets/projects and understand the deals that are being progressed and most importantly they understand the actual market for the product etc that the company operates in, yet that same poster doesn't ever seem to step up and debate the fundamentals. I crave posters that can step up and say, hang on, your numbers are srong here or there, or no you haven't quite go this right or that right but to be honest, most posters are lazy, dont do any work and winge like hell when the share price goes down after they got caught during a run (eg the legion of CFE punters buying on takeover speculation last year).

I'd be delighted if someone who understands Xstratas Platinum strategy better than I do, to come on and have a dip and say where I'm wrong. I've had this happen before and I always take it the way its meant unless I know the poster is simply making it up.
