Matt, the fuel cells actually run on hydrogen, but the fuel in is methane (natural gas) an internal reformer converts to hydrogen. The fuel cell can be adapted to run on other fuels ie LPG, syngas, etc. but this takes time and money to develop. So CFCL are going after the low hanging fruit first, which is natural gas in Europe.
Albeit the fruit is not that low and seems to be a tad out of reach at the moment, but it is getting closer.
