    The reality is:

    - at this point we don't know whether BIT225 will even be successful in human trials. Based on drug development reality, BIT225 is more likely to fail than succeed
    - In 12 months time, it is likely there will be more competitors on the market. There are hundreds of clinical trials at the moment and even more drugs in early development. Most will likely fail but probability says some will succeed. Pfizer's new drug could well be approved in the very near future.
    - Posters here were upramping, just like you are now, over 10 years ago when they were trying to convince HotCopper readers BIT had a cure for Hepatitis C. History shows BIT's hepatitis C program failed. You can see some of these posts in the following link.

    - your comment about people still buying brand drugs rather than generics is completely irrelevant. If another painkiller came along that was more effective, safer and still reasonably priced, then paracetamol would indeed be in big trouble and companies would likely stop producing it.
