TA just seems so silly... Why must a gap fill? Well, because enough people believe that a gap must fill, why do breakaway gaps not get filled? I guess because the fundamentals become too strong at that point and overpower the TA traders and then they eventually just forget about it untill the next lot of SP weakness... then all of a sudden everyone is like ohh what about this gap back here...
It seems your strategy is to hedge your bets, always hold the stock you like but trade a certain amount according to TA, so you can never be fully caught with your pants down when an unexpected announcement drops, like a takeover offer. It sounds like that has been working well for you, so good on you.
