Yeah though stock price drop doesnt affect the investor as they receive dividend income to offset the drop.
Perhaps by the time the divi is announced the sp will have gone up by over $2?? (to cover the drop).
Agree with what you're saying though. I can imagine value investors would buy after the dividend.
