re: more thought for the sulphides bonanza ahead Thanks for the replies to my wonderings boys.
What got me thinking along the "what can go wrong" vein was that over Xmas I read a book on the history of Mt Isa and a lot of other Qld & NT mines (including mention of the Browns/Batchelor explorations).
The book is called "Mines in the Spinifex" by Geoffrey Blainey and I could hardly put it down. So that followed by another of his called "The Peaks of Lyell" (still reading) about the early days up to the 1950's of the rugged ranges of western Tasmania. Boy did they do it hard !
Any way both books are an education in what can and does go wrong in mining and processing ores. Still I guess (in my naive frame of mind) all these things are well known and covered in todays modern mining. ????
For those inclined and have the reading time both books induce similar favourable portents for Browns
and - with its 10% friend Guardian - owned I understand by Josh Pitt who also owns (via Wythenshaw) another 6.6% of Compass - then such ownership tends to instill in amateurs like me a sense of security.
Not wishing to see my life go quickly but I wish 2006 would hurry up !!! Westmoon
