Is this not what patent protection is for?
If they have patents that will stand up, then there is no need for nondisclosure/noncompete etc. And if the patents don't stand up then BRN is of little value.
So if we dismiss the IP aspect, then we are left with a situation whereby a company that has full patent protection not being prepared to release info about their product unless someone ponies up $500k and agrees to work with them.
Bizarre.
