I believe its been said on these forums previously, not an unknown strategy/tactic especially for juniors - growing the resource/knowledge slower in a safe manner can be a great way to keep people seeing those gold values.
A slightly more cheeky tactic is to stop in mineralisation and then sell the potential.
Drilling underneath would certainly have a multiplying effect on interest if it works, but there's risk involved there.

Sometimes it's better to take the single runs vs going for 6's.

If they can continue to find gold laterally and not exhaust their capital, there is no real negative here. The deeper drilling will come.
