Just a reminder about the short reports:

ASX Gross Short Sales report is totally useless as it only lists the total number of short transactions for a single day. It certainly does not represent the net short position at the end of the day. And moreover, it would appear the gross figure does not include any short positions which might have been closed on the day (which would reduce the net for the day). Again: totally useless-I don't know why they bother.

ASIC's report is better, but seems to rely on the shorter reporting in a timely fashion, which I think probably only happens some of the time. But it does give a sense, even though the reporting is delayed by 5 working days (I think).

PS. The ASX report should include any shorts occurring on Chi-X, but the turnover there is so small it's almost insignificant. Having said that, I think there were a couple of large after market transactions on Chi-X in the past 10 days or so, but who knows if these related to shorting?
