Pretty much...new technology is going exponential. 100 years ago they had very little in the way of new equipment, vehicles, aircraft, helicopters etc.
Now they can locate minerals by satellite, dig millions of tons of earth up without too much trouble, get equipment and personnel on site easily and sell it online.
What's going to happen to the gold price when we mine passing meteorites. It's already been done, several times, but in small quantities.
