IMO The US was a sinking ship to begin with, Trump picked up a bucket and started bailing water. He won’t be able to reverse the decline but the US’s decline will herald in a multipolar world order that will cause a significant rise in global defence spending. China’s brazen behaviour will encourage states to shore up supply chains and bring manufacturing back home and this will most likely increase demand for technological solutions like WAAM 3D printing.
Regardless of whether AML is a US company or not she has a capability that is proving valuable to the defence industry. They will continue to send contracts her way or purchase her at some stage.
