Spacetalk will eventually have to release the 3rd generation of the Adventurer watch. In my opinion, it needs to be eSIM only in order to make the watch waterproof. This is probably the biggest design issue with the current suite of watches. While my kids have owned both the Adventurer 1 and the Adventurer 2 and have highlighted the benefits to numerous parents (whom then went off and purchased them), the water resistance rating causes great angst. My daughter has accidentally worn it in the bath a couple of times and no damage was done, but with this being a kids watch, it needs to be more robust / waterproof. The easiest path for water to ingress into the watch is via the sim cover as it's the largest opening. Making the next watch eSIM only (& activating it on the spacetalk / telstra network) will almost certainly give it a waterproof rating similar to the apple watches of 50m.
