There seems to be a great deal of negative sentiment at the moment so lets look at the facts and not the speculation.
My view is that the PON is a reaction to the Debt Ceiling in the US, just negative sentiment on steroids.
LME stocks of Class 1 Ni, (Battery Grade) very low.
Indonesian Ni production is Class 2 for stainless steel.
Battery demand growing exponentially.
Is the Big Short, back in business??? in China??
I keep reading about Indonesia's massive increase in Ni production but its all Class 2
To turn Class 2 Ni into Class1 does not meet any ESG requirements, is very expensive, highly polluting both waste (highly toxic) and Carbon emissions. So any Co. worried about ESG wont be buying Indo. Ni.
Keep the faith, when the Debt Ceiling has been sorted, this will seem like a pothole in the road.
