Today's announcement comprehensively demonstrates how far, and how fast, this company has moved. What we have here is really a preview of the Scoping Study - and what a view!

With very little fuss and fanfare, they have quietly announced that SYR will produce - and sell - one-fifth of the world's graphite in their first year of production, in 2015. At times, it's a little difficult to recall that serious exploration only started a little over 18 months ago. Now they are looking at revenues in excess of $300m in that same first year of production.

Just as exciting is the announcement's calm and detailed dissection of the immediate market, and the prospects for major expansion into other related areas. With such a huge resource available, SYR are in a position to offer an assured supply in a way that nobody could contemplate previously, and that means that all these new markets can open up.

Will this stretch the Balama resource? Not likely. Let's not forget that the small section of the deposit slated for early development - the Ativa Zone - is large enough, on its own, to provide 20 years production at the initial level, yet Ativa contains only about 4% of the Balama graphite.

Cdchi1 has pointed out that these production volumes open up the vanadium potential, virtually from Day One. And that means that SYR is on track to becoming a world-class mining house.
