Devitto thanks for the shorting analysis provided earlier. The price seasonality graph you provided certainly supports the macro environment for shorting.
If you ever do this chart again it would good to have a new row GROSS daily shorts per day as per the ASX daily gross short report. Then we could see the difference between gross daily shorts and net daily short increases.
I suspect a lot of short positions are closed out each day in the aftermarket auction. If this is so they are certainly having a lot of fun at our expense.
The algos they are using are like heat seeking missiles and any weakness in bids is smashed with sell orders. Not much small players like myself can do about it.
Will just have to sit it out until the market says enough is enough. Although I am happy to top up.
