i have been tracking the A2 overseas store on the Tmall Hong Kong website.
My understanding is that this direct to public online shop only commenced in late 2020.
it seems A2 in this instance have cut out the reseller shop and are selling direct to Chinese public.
What is interesting is that the margin they are achieving in English label from importing direct from New Zealand to Hong Kong/China (cuts out Australia.) is massive as it equates to NZ$45 a tin for an a2 platinium No. 1 tin.
You would imagine if this same tin had been shipped to woollies in Australia, a2 would have sold it wholesale for circa NZ $25 a tin. Remember, there is no Aussie GST added either, further margin upside to A2.
Has this distribution channel been fully explained by mngt as I think it is a more sophisticated alternative to the Daigou channel as the Chinese customers would feel safe to buy direct from A2 similar to buying off a friend in Australia.
