my only input on this is that you are up against the 'big boys'. If one thinks the A2M thread is rough, try the big boys club.
On a personal view: why not use both 'smallness' and private capital as an advantage.
Smallness = nimble = ability to get in and out of positions without moving the market price.
Private: = don't need to report to anyone, don't need short term outperformance, just need to be 'right' in the long term. Professional funds have heaps of short term pressure, and this pressure on the whole turns them into sheep.
