The golden cross filter has worked in the past for longer term trends, it would have prevented large losses during the 2008 crash, and it's free on this site - https://www.marketindex.com.au/asx-filter
Unfortunately, it isn't as relevant for the asx 300 and the all ords because of the excessive weighting of the present market index toward the financial sector.
