I have lost way more in holdings over the last fifteen years. However I am heavily diversified and I have investment caps for each holding so this mitigates the overhaul portfolio position. I have been in three class actions one with Bellamy which was quickly settled as it was purchased, and the facts were obvious, but generally apart from shockingly unjustified legal costs the majority drag on for years with puny amounts at the end paid out . There has been a lot of press recently of how courts have admonished class action lawyers for greedy charges after investor complaints. The whole class action regime currently exists to lubricate the coffers of lawyers rather then investors. It really needs to be overhauled badly. This broader picture aside ,my personal view is the A2m case is way more grey and has significant complex , novel and unexpected event type issues , I think A2 will fight this all the way.
