A CR wouldn't bring Bright any closer to taking over Synlait though.
Neither Bright nor A2M can increase their stake further without making a formal takeover offer. And my understanding is any takeover is subject to NZ Government approval, so they wouldn't be circumnavigating anything.
The cost for A2M to participate in equity raising in order to maintain its current stake is negligible (relative to its $800M cash balance).
