Nah nothing wrong with an extra day off even if it is for the bs narrative that maori were there first (false they came by boat and removed the locla populace the colonisers).. What really ruined the economy was the pos who sold of assets to overseas investors including the big part, housing. The whole economy is based on house prices being high and importing people to keep them high, which benefits a few people who luckily were in right place right to capitalise. Both parties have had a hand in this and do nothing as the polis have housing portflio which make bank on. Pretty sure Aus in same spot as well as most of west actually.
