it's a lagging indicator. I see macd as a signal to buy or that the bottom is in. the price action demonstrates that there was buying below 5.5 to push prices up to 5.6 now. markets like round numbers. next stop 5.70 etc.
once the hopefully positive news comes out re SM1 there are lots of catalyst for a move up
