Was researching economic data on China last night including a NYT article dissecting the sectors of structural weakness and which ones had been fixed. All I have to say is never underestimate China. Yes the diary industry there has reached surplus levels but A2 milk has always been seen as offering advantages over local milk by those buying it and the oversupply there was in existance last financial year and did not stop A2m increasing its marketshare. I am watching what happens re tariffs and its application to A2m in the US . Hard to see Trump going hard with NZ which is stragically important in the Pacific going through tough economic times and has a Trump friendly leader. The next issue is trumps economic war on China. China has lessened its dependence on US for its exports turning to the global south but this could still shave upto 2 percent of its GDP which is expected to see 5 percent growth this financial year. This is crazy stuff but I think a deal will be made re the 60 percent ttariff propsal . Just have to c what happens here . There is another half election in two years he will not want to cause supply chain disruptions or increase icosts for consumers before then. The A2m share price panic we are seeing is silly. Will take a few months to settle .
