stag11, Seismic Velocity surveys are more appropriate and successfully utilised in the oil patch, with the aim to differentiate various formations and structures in a sedimentary stratigraphic setting. I am not familiar with or aware of its application where it has been used extensively to explore for metalliferous bodies. I am not sufficiently familiar with the technique and therefore cannot comment.
