Just need to think like the company - we've taken a beating and when things begin to pick up re North American and U.K. vaccine roll out - cases curve dropping dramatically as a result optimism arrives. Then the Astra Zenica rollout debacle - just how long is that going to slow the global economy/travel recovery. With so many issues globally still with lockdowns and very high cases in extremely important global travel locations - business - income WEBJET is dependent on - this Astra Zenica issue is going to push back a return to opening travel and profitability much further.
That's the obvious of the current situation along with mutated strains far more deadly and contagious - without any other surprises to the downside - more issues arising.
It's pretty awful however we know at some point during 2021 the situation will improve greatly - the company can do no more but what they are doing - wait it out - put in measures to curb losses - secure further funding for if required. Given the Astra issues and lengthy delays that will bring and a replacement vaccine for billions of people in need - for travel to open - I would suggest WEB are overs. Travel bubbles with NZ - SINGAPORE will be short lived in my view - as confidence no matter what measures are implemented are no guarantee to see those considering travel not being stranded by a few cases in any of the bubble countries and closures - look no further than states and territories - look no further than how long ago this idea was floated yet how long it has taken and in particular with the new strains.
Yes the market looks ahead but simply there is no confidence of any assurance until large populations are vaccinated - crews/staff - resorts - etc. The current situation is with us for some time yet unfortunately in particular those being infected sadly.
How much will the losses continue into and even when it slowly opens - how long until decent profitability? The SP to me is where it should be if vaccines were on track - no lockdowns globally and some important international travel bubbles were operational - say in another 12-18 months time but here we are and it's no surprise - this is a terrible thing to overcome - and brace for more delays/issues.
